e-Types 3 months

This three-month internship has gone fast and I have been too busy to write about all the great new releases out there. Make sure you like the Record Turnover fb page to catch updats about all the latest records to obsess over. Only two weeks left until the summer holiday here and I’ve had the pleasure of working on big projects e.g. for Carlsberg, that should soon result in REAL products on the ACTUAL market. Keep an eye out here for updates on that, as well as news about what will happen from August onwards.

Waiting to be briefed on my first project, looking through the font archives in the meantime.

Next month, I start an internship at e-Types, my favourite design agency in Denmark. I’m very much looking forward to it, they recently published their work for the new edition of the Roskilde music festival, and hopefully I will get to work on something just as exciting. Image grabbed here.

The first of my work done at Rethink is starting to come through. One thing I’ve been working on are three whitepapers that are being published this month. It’s mainly a branding excersise for Rethink and to help them gain some new customers. All three are written by managing director Kresten Bo Nielsen, and will also be available in e-paper form.

Today is my final day at Kontrapunkt, and it has been 6 incredible months. I have learnt more than I could have hoped, and being here has been fun but also helped me keep my focus during a difficult last month. I am currently looking for new opportunities in Copenhagen, Malmö and around the world. As I gradually update my portfolio, I will post a few samples here. Right now, if the weather holds up, the course is set for the beach!

Metro | cityringen

I’ve just started working on a really interesting project for the Copenhagen Metro. They’ve got a ‘city ring’ opening in 2018, that involves two new train lines, that will intersect with the current M1 and M2 in accordance with the temporary map above, which is currently on the Metro website. There might also be extension north from Nørrebro and the future will definitely see additional lines added. See the website for all public information about the Cityring project.

Been branded

After my first day, the 3 month internship seems promising, and if I’m lucky I’ll get to work on a project involving the new Copenhagen Metro to be opened in 2017. I’m getting some inspiration from the usually inspiring Under Consideration, whose list of best identities of 2011 you can read here. My favourite by far is the new identity for OCAD University in Toronto. Typographically pleasing, it’s actually set in Gotham, but really it’s the implementation that makes the identity so great. So versatile but never budging from doing the job – which is to make the brand recognisable. More photos and a video here.

He’s Bob, eager for fun

I hope your holidays were as great as mine. Also looking forward to starting at Kontrapunkt in Copenhagen on the 30th! I’ll be there for three months and I hope to learn a lot from new design director Mads Quistgaard (founder of Pleks and co-founder of Danish Faces). They’ve recently released a new font called Bob (used above) that’s available for free download from their website.
